            FAQ

How Effective is IPL Laser Hair Removal?

Permanent hair removal is a quick and effective non-surgical procedure without long recuperation periods. An investment in IPL will give you a future of care-free hair management.

            What is IPL?

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) has multiple wavelengths ranging from 500 to 1,200 nanometers. An IPL laser hair removal machine emits a wavelength into the skin and targets the pigment of the hair called melanin which is situated at the root of the hair. The pigment absorbs the light energy which quickly kills the growing cells that make the hair.

Is IPL Lase Hair Removal Painful?

No. The sensation is similar to being flicked with a hot elastic band. The Unilux IPL machine is considered to be painless due to its in-built cooling systems. It is important to consider that IPL uses hundreds of wavelengths in each pulse which heat up the hair follicle and the surrounding skin. Sensitive levels differ will differ between clients and areas of treatment.

What is the Downtime After IPL?

After-effects of IPL treatments include temporary redness and scaling which subsequently fades within a day or two.
